We've picked our country!

After lots of research, careful consideration, and soul-searching, we are so excited to announce that we have chosen Korea as the country from which we will adopt!

We recently spoke with a couple that adopted a baby boy from Korea just a couple of months ago and went through the same process we'll be going through. We learned so much. Although we have no certainty about time tables, anecdotally the couples that have adopted from Korea through our "liaison agency" in Arizona have received a referral for the child within a few months or less of completing all of their paperwork. Then we would retrieve our child about 3 months after the referral. Others who have adopted internationally say this is the hardest time because you know who your child is but have to wait several months before bringing them home (and enjoying the rest of their lives). We are learning about the next steps in the never-ending paper chase and are trying to get all of our ducks in a row. Now that we have chosen our country, though, we at least know what is left for us to do and are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel! So it's Korea or bust!!! :)
