The train keeps rollin'

Things are moving along with the purchase of our first home. We just signed our loan docs (yay!) and we officially close and get the keys next week. We'll spend some time painting and furniture shopping before we move in toward the end of the month. We have finally completed all of the paperwork (medical exams, references, personal biographies, interviews, financial statements, etc) for BAAS, our primary agency, and hope to have our last home study visit at our new house in early March. In about 2 weeks, we fly to Arizona for our 2-day orientation at Dillon Southwest, our liaison agency that deals directly with Korea. So now we are beginning our 2nd (and last) round of major paperwork before we are able to be matched with our child.

Yes, lots of hoops to jump through, but we are remarkable jumpers! We know that many of our friends and loved ones are frustrated by all of the steps and scrutiny involved in this process, given that children are born everyday to people who don't give it a second (or even first) thought. What helps us get through the stress of the adoption process and buying our first home at the same time is keeping our eye on the prize, so to speak. We know that once we have our child in our arms and in our home, we will not resent or regret the process (Note: please remind us of this when it's 4AM, we've had no sleep, and our little one is having a meltdown - LOL!). After all, they also deserve the best home and life possible and we can't wait to do our best to provide that for our child! So onwards and upwards :)
