Happy Halloween!

Mommy Butterfly and Leo the Lion

Yesterday was Leo's Halloween party - what a kick! Last year, of course, Halloween fell about 2 weeks after we received the terrible news that we wouldn't be able to bring Leo home until 2010, so Halloween was a blah holiday to say the least. This year, I've had way too much fun decorating, pumpkin picking, and dressing up. We've been telling Leo all about Halloween and ghosts and pumpkins and he has been enjoying every facet of it. Thanks, Auntie Anne, for the awesome Halloween book! Leo spent lots of time roaring, running around, and trying on everyone else's costume hats. Oh, and Mommy and Daddy dressed up, too - that's half the fun! Happy Halloween everyone and thanks to Leo's friends for helping us celebrate his first Halloween with us in such a memorable way!

Leo helps put Halloween decals on the windows. I consider this a dynamic art exhibit since the decals don't stay in one place for very long :)

Leo readies the table for his guests.

My butterfly outfit was a big hit so I tried not to worry too much about all the things (and people) I was knocking into :)

We were honored with Julius Caesar's presence.

Food fit for a king.

And dessert, too!

Fire Chief Tobe arrived and told us the traffic light and road passed inspection.

Leo & Grace caught holding hands by Fireman Kaden.

What a cute lion!

They've got their eye on you, Leo!

We made our own pizzas - Leo was a natural!

Tigers eat pizza, too! Right?

Grace enjoyed her pizza a lot...

...but not as much as her cupcake!

Kyle and Leo (modeling Grace's Hello Kitty hat) and Tim agree!

Leo demonstrates the WRONG way to draw a pumpkin face but the RIGHT way to poke your eye out. Can you say "heart attack?" Yes, Leo is STILL wearing the Hello Kitty hat - LOL.

The party moves outside - there's important work to do!

Bye, bye kitty. Hello fire hat!
As my friend, Mare, pointed out, Leo tried on EVERY hat from all the other costumes during the party. He carries it off, no?

One happy lion!
