Phillies Blues

Well, the good news is that today we had the rare privilege of seeing a baseball playoff game. We dressed up in our Phillies finest, drove to AT&T park and arrived amidst the ocean of orange and black Giants fans, found our way to our ROW 6!!!!!! seats, and settled in with fries and drinks for the game. Rob & Leo checked out batting practice and my heart fluttered during the opening ceremony as 2 F14s flew over head at the end of the Star Spangled Banner. I'm such a sucker for that sort of thing. That's pretty much where the fun ended from a game perspective, since the Phillies went on to score no runs and lose the game. Boring. And left 7 players stranded on base. Frustrating. And then there was big-headed steroid Barry Bonds coming out to throw out the first pitch and being cheered like a saint, despite the fact that his head like doubled in size during his career, he ruined the integrity of the sport, and never brought his team a World Series. Sorry Giants fans, just can't respect that. When did I become such a sports fan? Anyway, the Phillies were lackluster and the Giants played better so we just focused on enjoying our first playoff game with Leo. He had a blast and charmed all the Giants fans around us :)

MC Hammer (yes, and they even played "Can't Touch This!") He's in the middle row with the black leather jacket and black hat, next to the guy in the white shirt.

  1. Excuse me. I am very upset that all of you over there in California keep going to these Phillies games and I am 40 minutes from Philly and have gone to zero games this year! Leo do something!
