Leo Reads His First Book!

So last night we're reading to Leo as part of his bedtime routine. We have a favorite book of his out from the library called "Tickle, Tickle." It always ends with a tickle :) I read it to Leo and then Robert said he would read it, to which Leo responded, "No, Leo read book." That by itself was AMAZING! I mean, sentences, people! But then it happened.

Leo proceeded to open the book and read each page, acting out the scene when appropriate. We sat there in stunned silence, awed by our 28 month old! Then (savvy mommy I am), I asked, "Would you like to read it again?" "Mmmmmhmmmm," replied Leo. So I grabbed my flip camera and behold this video of Leo's 2nd reading. Leo "reads" all 4 pages: "Squelch squelch in the mud, Splish splash rub-a-dub, Gently gently brush your hair, Tickle tickle under there," and even tickles himself at the end. He likes to linger on page 3 about the hair-brushing. Too cute. Then he moves onto a Curious George book. So glad my little guy is a book worm! And so glad he's mine :)
