So as you can see, some wonderful new photos of Leo have arrived fro
m Korea! In the bottom picture, taken in June, our little guy is back in his favorite chair ;)The top photo was taken in August. If you look closely, you can see that Leo is holding a photo album of us that we sent him (weep, weep) and a giraffe security blanket we sent him as well.
The fact that he is there in Korea in that super duper adorable outfit (I mean, the tie!), holding stuff we held, makes this more real. If they are sending us these photos and giving him our things, he must really be coming!
As luck, or rather, unluckiness would have it, we received our approval paperwork from California Immigration Services (CIS) and after a quick inspection we realized it indicated that Robert is adopting me! Leo's name was not even on the document :( So that's California government bureaucracy as usual. Our agency here is working to get the error rectified and we hope it doesn't create any issues. They assure us that this has happened before (somehow that's not comforting) and can usually be fixed relatively easily.
In much brighter news, we also received a 7 month update from Leo's Korean social worker on his development. Here is exactly what we received, with all of the charm of inexact translation ;P .
"He drinks 160cc every 3.5-4 hours, and eats rice gruel 3 times a day. He has a good appetite. He sleeps from 9:30AM to 5:30PM through the night, has two naps with each lasting an hour, and has cat afternoon naps. He hardly gets fretful before going to sleep, but he sucks his right thumb for 30 minutes, and falls asleep. He rolls around a lot when he sleeps. He has a bowel movement a day or every other day in good condition, crawls, rolls around, mouths anything, propels himself in a walker, opens a drawer, does something cute by putting his head a little to one side, and is not shy of strangers."
Sucks his right thumb! Propels himself in a walker! So accomplished and so young :) We can't wait to check all of this out for ourselves....
You've got a real cutie!! Looks like your room is coming along. It'll be so much cuter with Leo in it! Can't wait for the boys to meet.
