Ah, so much to blog about so little time! So we finished the nursery border at long last - yay :) And recently I was lucky to be the guest of honor at my baby shower. My mother-in-law, Rita, made fabulous stuffed peppers for everyone to enjoy and my good friend, Samia, made a wonderful chocolate cake. It was a great day - I felt overwhelmed by love, support, and friendship. All of this positivity really does help. Now that I have all this baby gear, it must mean somebody is coming!!!!
But not soon enough :( This week we got some very good news. California Immigration Services approved our application to adopt Leo (this took about a month) and have sent the paperwork to the US Visa people. Then they send their paperwork to Korea and we wait on Leo's paperwork to be submitted to the government for processing, and to eventually receive a visa and passport for him. Last step is scheduling his trip here or ours there. We had a long phone conversation with our social worker today who basically can't give us any time estimates whatsoever, since it's in Korea's hands now. We really can't say when he'll be here - it could be early October, it could be later, earlier, we don't know. We are working on being happy about what's happened so far, being patient, and knowing that when he gets here, he'll be with us for good and we can hug and squeeze and kiss him as much as he'll let us :)
I liked how Leo's baby photo was by the cake. The nursery is looking great. He will really appreciate seeing this blog and all of these goings on when he is older; it will make him feel special :)
ReplyDeleteWe're crossing our fingers that the Korean bureaucracy will be efficient (I know that's an oxymoron)!!
