Still trying to post our video successfully, so in the mean time, here are some snapshots of our time with Leo on Monday (double-click on the pictures to make them larger). We were able to play with him for two hours, plus the cab ride back to our hotel, and will be seeing him again at 10am tomorrow on Thanksgiving (we're not sure for how long, but it's possible we'll be staying at the agency for a luncheon with Dr. Kim, who runs the Eastern Social Welfare Society). Our time with Leo so far has been surreal, wonderful, too quick, and more than we hoped for! We're more in love with our little baby than ever! One amazing highlight to share, that I'm still trying to absorb, is that Leo reached out for me and called me "mama" several times - to my stunned ears. I was overwhelmed and shocked. We learned that Leo's foster family has been regularly showing him our photos, and referring to us as his mama and papa, so Leo, to some extent, recognized us :) They also made us a beautiful photo album filled with baby pictures of Leo. Coming to Seoul has been an extremely positive experience - seeing the city, meeting the locals, meeting Leo's foster parents and social worker, and of course spending time with our son. These are memories we'll treasure for the rest of our lives!
Well, I am in tears. Extremely relieved for you both. I can't believe these pictures. I can't wait to hear all about it. Auntie Anne
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool little dude... you can tell he has a great temperament and what wonderful foster parents to have already taught him that you and Rob are his mom and dad. Lucky Leo on all accounts. :-) I hope you get lots of time with him on Thanksgiving!! Much love, Emily
