Leo looks over the railing at Santa Cruz Beach
We got away for a long weekend in Santa Cruz to celebrate Rob's birthday. It was Leo's first time there and he thrived. Enjoy this first installment of photos!

We started our trip with a late breakfast before checking into our little cottage.

After we settled in, we walked to the pier during a beautiful evening.

Leo surveys the pier.

Mommy's arms hurt on this trip from so much carrying of my bigger and bigger boy.

Leo isn't the only one who wore a bib at dinner.

Leo does some coloring the next day at breakfast.

The view from our window table of the fog over the beach and pier in the morning.

By the time breakfast ended, the fog had lifted and volleyball was in full swing on the beach.

Guess who's on the boardwalk?

Leo and Daddy had fun in classic corner, despite it being a bit buried at the arcade.

Leo's first attempt at skee ball.
Let's just say it was lucky there were no people standing to his left.

The highlight of the whole experience for Leo was his first official boardwalk icecream cone. He had literally been talking about it for DAYS leading up to this moment.

And yet, somehow, this kid still wanted candy afterwards with the kind of sincere absurd endearing desperation only a 2-year-old is capable of.
More pics to come soon!
