The last part of our long weekend in Santa Cruz was spent mostly on the beach. Leo was excited - exhilerated - by the ocean water and loved it when Mommy and Daddy lifted him and then placed him in the waves and rushing water. We were all laughing and screaming with delight. The weather was unbelievably gorgeous so it was hard to pile into the car and head home our final morning. Just another reason to hit the beach again soon!

Before heading out in the morning to the beach,
Leo and Mommy share an impromptu kiss...

...and a laugh, too.

Daddy and Leo observing the sea lions and waving to Mommy up above.
Leo became a pro at imitating their sounds.

Leo usually doesn't like rides very much, unless he can go with Mommy or Daddy, so we were thrilled to find that there were a number of toddler rides we could enjoy with him together. The flying dragons was a hit, though Daddy felt a little worse for wear :/

Leo devours a gummy shark, showing no mercy for the shark. To me, that looks says, "Don't even think about trying to stop me."
Of course not! This is what a vacation is all about!

Mommy and Leo check out the waves and fill our buckets with water for Leo's sand play.

Eventually, Leo played and Mommy became the water-bearer. I am an Aquarius after all. I didn't mind a bit, actually. I'll take any excuse to put my toes in the water.

Oh, and just so no one thinks Rob's birthday got lost in all of this focus on Leo, the boardwalk, and the beach, here's a glimpse of part of his birthday gift. Ah, Brunello, Rob's favorite wine.

And that made Daddy a very happy birthday boy. Happy birthday, Daddy!
